The goal of the COSIMA research unit is to analyse how simulation-based learning environments in the university context can be designed and implemented in order to facilitate the acquisition of diagnostic competences, in particular in early and intermediate stages of competence acquisition.

The innovative potential of the COSIMA research unit lies in the fact that researchers from medical, physics, biology, and mathematics education work together with researchers from the learning sciences field. Research on diagnostic competences has been significantly increasing in each of the fields in recent years.
